Hi fellow Ascend users...
So here I am, 3 months after I first reported this problem, and a week since
the cause has been identified.
Ascend only took any notice after I went public on this alias. Multitech
MT2834LT modems have a serious firmware problem they told us, in the compression
algorithm. Downgrade to firmware 009A they tell me. (see appendix)
My distributor is all for rushing around here to "downgrade" my modems to an
earlier probably bugged release. No way!
I contact Multitech, and they say, DO NOT DOWNGRADE, you will certainly destroy
the modem! (see appendix)
OK so where I am left. Three months down the road, endless hassle and pain from
the small group of customer who use this pop, stress at being ignored by Ascend,
and my distributor (dataCON) not repared to do anything constructive.
I STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM! WHAT ARE ASCEND/MULTITECH/DATACONN going to do about
it?
The modems are supported by Ascend, and were supplied the Dataconn, and made
by Multitech, surely one of you could give a damn?
John Hodson
I WILL not go away on this. You contracted to supply me equipment to to do a
job. Until you sort out my problems, I will hassle you the way my customers
do me.
