Well that certainly cleared THAT up for me- all this time I figured
folks were talking about the ringback tone. The one that sounds EXACTLY
like a typical North Carolina busy signal, and is sometimes interpeted
as such by very cheap modems. ;-)

So anyway, I dialed my PoPs on a voice line and they all do it- plus the
PRI Max has mysteriously re-enabled its ringback since 5.0Ap16, so it
sounds pretty strange when you first dial in. I misdoubt that this is
queering up some no-name modems.

'Shot, who has kept his modem speaker off since 1986.... ;-)
