Which one of these values are you looking at:

                  total pools: 274
          total buffers in use: 4285

                total memalloc: 61349016
                 total memfree: 61348461
               memalloc in use: 555
             memalloc failures: 0
              memfree failures: 0
           memalloc high water: 724

Histogram of memalloc'd memory block sizes:
    697 buffers in range [64,127]
    277 buffers in range [128,255]
    1 buffers in range [256,511]
    10 buffers in range [512,1023]
    7 buffers in range [1024,2047]
    2 buffers in range [2048,4095]
    1 buffers in range [4096,8191]
    6 buffers in range [8192,16383]
    6 buffers in range [32768,65535]
    1 buffers in range [65536,131071]
Total memory in use: 560928 bytes in 1008 buffers

Histogram of free memory block sizes:
    41 buffers in range [64,127]
    10 buffers in range [128,255]
    1 buffers in range [256,511]
    5 buffers in range [1024,2047]
    1 buffers in range [2048,4095]
    2 buffers in range [4096,8191]
    2 buffers in range [8192,16383]
    1 buffers in range [1048576,2097151]
Total free memory: 1543296 bytes in 63 buffers

The only time I see a performance problem is when I've
accidentally left some combination of: radif, pppif, etc running when I've
closed the telnet session. That seems to make the Max real sluggish.
