(ASCEND) Why can't I make 64k calls
Hello all... this is kind of an extension of my last
question (ie: clock source from two different PRI sources).
Anyhow, new dilemma...
Let's say I have a MAX4000 with 3 PRIs coming into it.
2 are from SWB and 1 is from ACSI. Let's say that I have
a SWB BRI connected to an Ascend Pipeline 75. Now, I can
place a 64k call from my BRI into my SWB PRI and it connects
fine (no problems). I place a 64k call from my BRI into my
ACSI PRI and the following happens:
1) The call comes in (ie: I can see it ring the channel and
CDR reports the correct info).
2) The call sits there for several seconds and eventually fails.
3) CDR shows the call as an incoming 64k call
Now, I scratch my head and ponder. Ok, if I can't make a 64k
call, let me try a 56k (data) call. Now, I place a 56k (data)
call from my BRI to my SWB PRI and it connects fine. I place
a 56k (data) call into my ACSI PRI and it *too* connects fine!
In summary:
a) BRI 64k data -> SWB PRI *success*
b) BRI 64k data -> ACSI PRI ** failure **
c) BRI 56k data -> SWB PRI *success*
d) BRI 56k data -> ACSI PRI *success*
So... where do I begin troubleshooting? I verified all the settings
on my MAX and the fact that a 64k ISDN call works fine w/ SWB
leads me to believe this is an ACSI telco problem. However, the
telco insisits their line is set up correctly and that it's my
equipment's problem. I don't believe them because I have been
making 64k/128k ISDN calls through my SWB PRIs w/out any problems
for nearly one year!
*sigh*
Any guidance, especially in how to properly diagnose this problem
would be greatly appreciated.
