It _is_ a D-Channel issue. The Caller calls the callee, which sees the
call (SETUP), identifies the CLID of the caller, matches it against
its profiles and if one with this CLID exists, and has Callback set,
refuses the call and calls back. That is what D-Channel-Callback (or
ISDN-Callback or CLID-Callback) is about.

Nope. Only with PPP callback you would. The selection criteria of whether
PPP or CLID callback is used is (obviously) whether CLID auth would work
in the first place. Aka Id Auth=Prefer (at least) and the correct
Calling # in the profile.

You can do this with Ascend. If it doesn't work in the first place, it is
because of broken software at the -T--. Bad enough, this broken software
interferes with some parameter lack (callback delay f.i.) and some general
working principle (call collissisons are evil) of the Ascend device, but
first to blame is -T-- (especially to customers). Then, the LAN-Adrs hack
is the solution to still get it running.
