If that were the case then ANY time, ANY Win 95 program was set to look at
the Network neighborhood, then it MIGHT send out a packet but only if you 
actually CLICKED on that Network neighborhood or had already referred to
a file in the neighborhood. But I thought that would work only
if tcpip was set as the default protocol.  That DOES sound like the most
likely reason tho. 

Could you then BLOCK something like that so you dont have Word keeping a
session alive?
