I normally have a telnet session running to each box from a win95
machine, what I have found on this particular box since 5.0p42 then I
went to 6.0.02 is that the telnet session would stop updating its
display. usually if I gave it a control-l is would repaint and start
displaying again. I really didn't worry about it until today when it
would repaint and I had a subscriber complaining that they could
dialin, sync the modems and then nothing !! I hooked up a terminal
(to the consle port) and saw that the 90-400 window (ether stat) that
the rx was climbing and the tx was stopped. I then went to diag and
Yes was greeted by the keyboard task error, I did a fatal and got a
screen full, so cleared the list and waited, sure enough the box
rebooted itself. When is came back the log below was there.
Funny, I hardly used the bri card, it was actually bought due to the
ascend Australian SPC problem on PRI's (at the time) and I was
upgrading a 128k SPC to 192k and you cannot stack pipeline 50's :-)
that link was eventually replaced with a 512k frame link which I run
into a Bay ARN, and the BRI's were split with one to the Bay ARN and
the other on the MAX BRI card. I was going to put the pipeline 50
back into service and replace the 4000 + BRI with a 4060 and move the
4000 + BRI to a pop (1800km away) which could use the BRI card. I
even use the same febk.m40 load on ALL my MAX's to keep things easier
although this is the only MAX which really needs that load, and its
the only MAX I have with the problem, funnier still the box is one of
the new ones with the circular fan slots having been swapped due to
the power supply issue of running 5 x 12port k56 cards plus a BRI
card. (its a 7xxxxxx serial number).
I suppose I could downgrade the software load if it continues, and
had run for about 10 days before the problem occurred (its that long
since I did the software upgrade on that box).
